Mike, along with his three brothers, Lindsay, Tim and Jeff, have an interesting race history.  From the time any one of them can remember, cars and racing have been their life. The curiosity and the need for speed started with their father, Allen, who was in love with the Bonneville Salt Flats from the moment he saw Sir Malcolm Campbell in 1935. This is where, in 1962, it became a family project to build race cars and break land records--22 in all. The list is long and impressive form mustangs, roadsters and lakesters, the speeds increased from 175 mph to 301 mph.

In 1992 Mike became the permanent driver of the dragster running Top Fuel at Bonneville Raceway in Salt Lake City. That was challenging and fun, but the expense of running became too great and the car was sold. In 1996 the decision was made to run the Top Alcohol class in NHRA. A new chassis was constructed, thus was the beginning of the Strasburg Family Racing Team. Since that time, each year's achievements have developed the successful team of today. In 2001 the team finished 11th Nationally and #2 in Division 7 within the ranks of NHRA.

Awards and
Accomplishments. . .

Mike and the team had a great 2002 Top Fuel rookie season. Each race attended gave way to faster times. One of the teams great accomplishments cam in Las Vegas at the AC Delco Nationals, qualifying at the fastest event since the 90% rule. Another highlight was setting the mile per hour track record at Rocky Mountain Raceway in SLC, UT, with a 302.72 mph in September. The team plans to attend twice as many races for the 2003 season and to continue improving on their past successes.

From the Bonneville Salt Flats. . .

Allen Strasburg, past president and founding member of the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association, has passed away.
Allen was the father of four 200 MPH Club members. The Strasburgs run a very busy machine shop where they
build racing engines. They have helped many racers because they were less than three hours from the salt.
Allen was one of the founding members of the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association.
The family was a big part of the early years of the organization.

He will be missed.

Strasburg Team assisted  in the record for the fastest bicycle, 1995 Guinness Book Of world Records with Fred Rompelberg.
